Larne Golf Club, located at 54 Ferris Bay Road, Islandmagee, Larne, is a distinguished members club that boasts a picturesque parkland course consisting of nine captivating holes. Situated on a headland that extends into the Irish Sea, the course is flanked by the pristine sandy beaches of Brownsbay and Ferris Bay. From its vantage point, golfers can savour breathtaking panoramic views of the Port of Larne, the mouth of Larne Lough, and even catch glimpses of the Antrim Coast and the west coast of Scotland on clear days.

The course itself presents a delightful blend of parkland and links features, providing golfers with a unique and exhilarating experience. It spans a par 70 and measures a total length of 6,288 yards (with the Ladies par set at 74 and a length of 6,052 yards). Recently, the club has added nine additional teeing areas, enabling players to enjoy 18 distinct holes by altering the length and perspective from the tee on the existing front and back nines. For instance, the 1st hole, previously a par 5 of approximately 520 yards, has transformed into a challenging par 4 measuring around 460 yards from the new tee.

Each hole at Larne Golf Club possesses its own distinct character, but it is the closing stretch of the 6th/15th, 7th/16th, 8th/17th, and 9th/18th that truly test the skills and mettle of golfers. These final holes, particularly when faced with the prevailing westerly wind, do not easily surrender low scores, making for an exhilarating and demanding finish.
